Asked why she has chosen to focus on the Enneagram over other similar evaluations, Tracy says that tests such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator only focus on behavior, which details the present, but does not give you a blueprint for how to proceed into the future.
“Information doesn’t equal transformation,” says Tracy. The problem with much of the personal development industry today is that it focuses on raising awareness and less on how to actually integrate insights into one’s personal life. This is where Tracy comes in. “The Enneagram, to me, is a mix of psychology and spirituality.” It determines the type of person you were when you were born and helps you to then become who you were meant to be.
Tracy tells us: “You can function for a while with an unhealed heart, but it’ll catch up to you. It’ll catch up to you at a time that’s inconvenient and costly—emotionally, physically, or financially. If you know that there’s some unpacking you need to do, don’t put it off another day. You can function and you can compensate, but it’s not optimal and, eventually, it’ll all shut down on you.”
