Rachel Greiman is a copywriter and documentary family photographer in Philadelphia, PA. She owns Green Chair Stories, a company committed to taking photographs and writing words that look and sound like real people. She believes cookies are a perfectly acceptable breakfast food, as long as you eat some salad later. She lives with her giant dog (an 80-pound bernedoodle named Bernadette), her giant husband (a 6’6″ man named Travis), and her currently little (but probably soon-to-be giant) babies in a townhouse in the city.
Rachel Greiman is a copywriter and photographer. She has worked in nonprofit for much of her career and has accumulated over a decade of copywriting experience under her belt. At one point, she struck out on her own and started her own business in 2014, first solely in photography, but later on added copywriting services as well.
Rachel’s biggest mindset shift as a business owner has been to accept that no one is the best at anything. “If you look at other people in your space as someone to measure up to,” she says, “being a business owner starts to get a little scary.”
Social media has gamified everything, which adds to this tendency to compare yourself with other professionals in your field. But what helped Rachel to overcome this mental hurdle was to reframe how she saw her “competition”, regarding them instead as her colleagues, or even as her friends. Rachel freely refers prospects to these other photographers or copywriters if she believes that there is a better fit out there for them. Today, Rachel lives out the classic phrase: A rising tide lifts all boats.
Listen in and learn Rachel’s copywriting best practices, why a copywriter needs to be their client’s cheerleader or hype person, how to give your client an experience that justifies your value proposition, and how to create a website that converts.
