[7.07] Kelsey: I usually interview between 4 and 6 of my client’s past or current clients and I find that by digging into those client interviews I am often able find themes or words that come up often that I can use to inform the copy.
[8.37] Kelsey: It’s good to keep in mind is who that ideal client is.
[9.14] Kelsey: Some of those questions I try to ask all come back to what was going on internally and externally before working with you and after working with you.
[13.12] Kelsey: A big mistake I see is people trying to be clever at the cost of being clear.
[14.02] Kelsey: Another big one is people that are not writing like they talk.
[14.29] Kelsey: It can be good to look at texts with your friends to see how you actually talk.
[14.45] Kelsey: The last big one I see is people not paying attention to that client journey.
[26.27] Kelsey: I would recommend reaching out to your clients or audience and find their pain points: what their challenges are and what they’re struggling with. If you can use those pain points you can empathetically infer.
