I received a DM saying “Teach me how you write blog posts so fast”
I often write all my blog posts for the month in a few hours and here is how.
1. HAVE AN ‘IDEA BANK’.
Whenever I think of a great blog post idea, see a great blog post idea or think of a great blog post title, I keep a record of it.
I find what takes up the most time is actually coming up with the idea and taking the time to work out what you will say once you have the idea. That’s why I do these two steps prior to my actual ‘blog post writing’ time.
That leads me into my next step…
2. DRAFT UP YOUR BLOG POST PRIOR TO WRITING IT.
I often to this step the week prior to writing it, or when I come up with the idea in the first place. This is my template for drafting, and how the wireframe I usually use for creating a blog post:
-
Blog title, I love this blog from Ashlyn writes on a formula for writing them
-
Intro
-
Main takeaway stated
-
Main points (i usually aim for 3-5)
-
Main takeaway stated again
-
CTA
3. RESEARCH WAYS TO ADD ‘EXTRA VALUE’ ITEMS
These are the pieces of extra value I place in to bring my blog post to life and bring some extra meat into the post.
Examples of extra value items include:
-
Personal story
-
Quotes or statistics
-
Extra reading from a previous blog post or piece of content you have created
-
Shop item/paid service
So there you have it, that is my method for writing blog posts efficiently.
