{"id":84,"date":"2020-01-30T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-30T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lisabruton.com.au\/?p=84"},"modified":"2021-03-12T16:58:52","modified_gmt":"2021-03-12T16:58:52","slug":"batch-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lisabruton.com.au\/?p=84","title":{"rendered":"How to set your batch days in 3 easy steps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>   <iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-l7GUOqapG0?wmode=opaque&amp;enablejsapi=1\" height=\"480\" width=\"854\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><br \/>\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">You didn\u2019t create your business to feel overwhelmed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">I want to help you move away from that place of overwhelm and into the joy behind why you created your business. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">When I felt overwhelmed within my own business, the way that I primarily removed overwhelm was through batch days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Batch days is when you group like tasks together and link them to a certain time. I find that batch days help with productivity because my mind doesn\u2019t need to shift between the different mindsets for each tasks as they are alike. They are also great for helping with boundaries within my business!<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>1. Work out your ideal work schedule<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The first thing that you need to do to create batch days is to work out your ideal schedule. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">The reason for this is that you don\u2019t want to create a batch day schedule for 5 days a week if you are only wanting to work 3 days a week. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">You created a business for the <em>freedom<\/em> to do what you love. The key word there: <span style=\"text-decoration:underline\">freedom<\/span>. This work schedule is <em>yours<\/em>, it will look completely different to mine, and that\u2019s ok!<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">So now it\u2019s your turn to think: in an ideal world, how many hours would you like to work? What days would you like to work?<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>2. Brain Dump and Categorise<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Put a timer on for 5 minutes and brain dump every task that you currently do in your business. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Then, categorise these tasks into categories. There are four main categories that I recommend (feel free to change these to suit your business): <\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Admin<\/strong> (checking inbox, invoicing etc.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Content &amp; Marketing<\/strong> (eg. any free offerings that come from your business)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Dreams<\/strong> (anything you haven\u2019t yet done, but you want to)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>Offerings<\/strong> (client work, selling your digital products etc.)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\"><strong>3. Allocate Categories to Days<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Now what you\u2019re going to do is allocate your different categories to different days based on the schedule you chose in step one. <\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">An example from my business is that I only work 3 days, yet I have 4 categories.
